Despite being a male, I believe there is an unseen struggle that all women face. While it may not be as outright as it was in the past, the struggle is there, buried beneath the surface of male-run corporations and lifestyles.
It is for this reason I made the protagonist of my first novel, both female and blossoming into her womanhood. I believe Diane represents this struggle throughout her life course as she discovers herself and the meaning behind life. I hope she is an inspiration for woman everywhere, encouraging all genders and races that you can do anything if you set your mind to it, and anyone can overcome their inner demons.
"If woman had no existence save in the fiction written by men, one would imagine her a person of utmost importance; very various; heroic and mean; splendid and sordid; infinitely beautiful and hideous in the extreme; as great as a man; some think even greater."
- Virgina Woolf
